Speaker Bio
As a lifelong learner, Luke embodies the spirit of intellectual curiosity and a genuine love for acquiring diverse knowledge and skills. He enjoys exploring new domains, challenging existing paradigms, and staying at the forefront of emerging technologies. Surviving a near-fatal road accident in 2006 inspired Luke to double down on his life’s purpose: to empower others to achieve more than they could have imagined. He remains a passionate advocate for building the success of the people around him and unlocking their full potential.
Luke has a remarkable career of 29 years in the technology industry. He held several leadership and general management roles at prominent organizations like Microsoft, Meta, Fuji Xerox, VMware, and Cisco Systems. Before taking a career break to embark on new adventures and spend quality time with his family, he was the Chief Operating Officer at Microsoft Asia Pacific, driving the go-to-market strategy and operations, fostering a culture of learning and growth, and building inclusive teams.
As a "pracademic," Luke is passionate about bridging theory and practice. He holds a Ph.D. from Singapore Management University, an MBA from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management, and a Master of Science in Industrial and Systems Engineering from the National University of Singapore, which complements his extensive industry experience. His research interests include team diversity, social capital, ambidexterity, intrinsic motivation, and learning agility.
With his unique blend of academic excellence and practical leadership expertise, Luke is uniquely positioned to inspire and empower leaders to cultivate psychological safety, ignite learning agility, and tap into the intrinsic motivation that drives transformative growth. His enthusiasm, deep insights, and unwavering commitment to continuous learning will undoubtedly equip audiences with the mindset and tools to thrive in the volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous (VUCA) business landscape.
